I bought a copy of Backlash: Assault On Omicron Station. Freeware is version 1.30 Full Release CD is version 1.30 LCR Release Both include all 3 campaigns. The CD has an extra BEAUCOMM.FLM file. Another 8 files have different MD5 checksums.

Just retested this in DOSBox with Windows 3.11. The issue is with Heavy install. Minimum and Medium do work. Although I'm noticing an audio stutter right when a character starts to talk so everyone's voice sounds shaky at first.

I prefer PC but also own every console I can get my hands on. The whole PC vs Console thing is silly. I like keyboard and mouse over controller. I like to be able to edit files. But more over, I'm a gamer. If I find a game interesting then I'll play it.

I thought the gauntlets regularly steal health and the tome just increases their range. The Sabreclaw sound is also used in a lot in TV shows and movies.

Sucks that it's only available by download. The box and jewel case art they created looks fantastic. I'd buy it if it came in a box version. I think it's funny that publishers spent years telling gamers not to download games. Now it's the only way they're available. Actually funny is the wrong word …
