screen capture in Mac OS X

Hi, I have a rather basic question. I have DOSBox on OS X Leopard, and I tried saving a screenshot but can't find the file of the screenshot anywhere. The FAQ says that the file goes to the capture folder--which I can't locate. Where the heck should I look?

Re: Issues with DOSBox 0.71 on Mac OS X

Yes, I've had that same icon problem (I replace the DOSBox icon with whatever game or app icon I've set that particular DOSBox up for, but then the icon changes to the DOSBox icon in the dock upon opening). Even if you make an alias to DOSBox and change the alias icon, the dock icon will still …

Re: so close!!!!!!! but a problem

Well, it's actually an old, very simple notation program called ConcertWare (run in Win 3.1 in DOSBox). I use it just to quickly and easily get my musical ideas down into MIDI; I then switch over to my DAW software (Pro Tools) for further work and to integrate audio and MIDI (all done on my Mac, …

Re: so close!!!!!!! but a problem

My guess is that it's the sequencer. I also use DOSBox to run an old MIDI sequencer, and the timing is very good. But this same sequencer, when I ran ti under WINE in Linux, has terrible timing; I could never resolve the problem. So MIDI timing, at least for old MIDI sequencers operated in …

Re: question for Intel Mac users

I will assume that you mean 3000 cycles is as high as you can go without problems. (By the way, I made a misstatement in my original post. I have two PowerPC Macs, a 733 MHz and a 1.8 GHz; my 4000 cycle comfort level is for the 1.8 GHz Power PC.) At any rate, I'm interested in hearing from Intel Mac …

question for Intel Mac users

I asked this question tentatively in another thread and got no answer, and would like to ask it directly now. I use DOSBox 0.70 on a PowerPC Mac (733 MHz) with very satisfying results. The only occasional problem being, it's sometimes a little slow (for my games/applications, I usually run at CPU …

Re: DOSBox on Mac -> Ascendancy

Just want to mention that I'm a user of DOSBox on a Mac and have received very useful and matter-of-fact answers from this forum. From what I see, Mac users are welcome here. I run DOSBox on a PowerPC, and thus can't use the "dynamic core" setting, which makes my DOSBox experience slower than that …

Re: Help installing DOSbox 0.70 on Mac OS X

Just a note from another Mac DOSbox user (me): I had DOSbox 0.65 on PowerPC OS X 10.4 for quite a while, which I used with a "dosbox.conf" file just stuck in the same directory as the DOSbox app. Now that I've switched to DOSbox 0.70, I still use a dosbox.conf file in the DOSbox directory in the …

SVGA DOSBox for OSX?

Hi, I'm running Windows 3.1 in DOSBox 0.65 on my Mac. I have to say DOSBox is an amazing program, as it allows me to run my old DOS games (wow), as well as my favorite old 16-bit MIDI sequencer app, which I can't run on my Mac any other way. (Keep up the cross-platform good work!) My question is …

Re: Win 3.1 in DOSBox 0.65 on Mac; choppy sound

Yes, your instructions were right on the mark--I was able to compile DOSBox on my Mac. Thanks. The resulting DOSBox wasn't any faster, but had at least one improvement--it allowed me to install Win32s (an enhancement that allows the occasional 32-bit program to work on Win31). By the way, I've also …

Re: Win 3.1 in DOSBox 0.65 on Mac; choppy sound

It's not concern as much as just having fun twiddling around with DOSBox--which is much more interesting to me than Microsoft Virtual PC, which I also have on my Mac (and which is a big, monolithic piece of slow hardware that can't handle MIDI at all while DOSBox does MIDI pretty well when I slow …
