Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay, I tried making several .CUE/.BIN images. The music plays fine now~! Yeay~! My sincere thank you and appreciation to all the contributors of this thread, especially wd, eL_PuSHeR and Xerxes. For putting up with my ignorant foolishness. (I'm still kicking myself over the not-thinking-about- …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Yeah I had your problem too, Xerxes. When you use DosBox to install the game, the game has a problem copying some files over. (mostly the cinematics and sound files) And, i would like to apologise to everyone else for wasting your time with my stupidity. Particularly to wd and eL_PuSHeR for your …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

DOH~! I am so stupid.. Seriously.. all I did was turn off music and *POOF* everything becomes exceptionally smooth. I tried playing it on max cycles and it works~! 'Course, when I turn music back on the thing gives me the same DOS/4GW professional error crash thingie. I am SO DUMB~! *bangs head …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Hmm.... Okay, I extracted the Dos4gw.exe file and placed it in my game folder, then executed "C:\THUNDER\>dos4gw.exe main.exe" I got the line: "DOS4GW fatal error (1008): can't load executable format for file MAIN.EXE [1]" I editted my THUNDER.BAT by changing to: "DOS4GW.EXE MAIN.EXE -pE:\thunder %1 …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Hmm, I already thought I updated to ver1.1. Regardless, I downloaded and updated again. Seems nothing changes except I get a funky new FILE_ID.diz file. Oh well. Additionally, I downloaded the DOS4GW.exe thingie. What do I do with it? And what is "Dos4gw game.exe"? I mean, I appreciate the help and …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay~! It must have been all the nice things I've done in life, the DOS Gods have given me a sign of what is wrong~! But as I cannot read DOS language and have no identify scroll at hand.. I still don't know what it means.. 😒

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay, the original problem is whenever I run THUNDERSCAPE the spell and weapon animations during combat the animations lag horrendously. This is a very big problem. If I overclock the CPU cycles too much, like to max, the game crashes when it tries to play weapon and spell animations. If I run from …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

GARGH~! I was SSSOOOO close.. now I MUST get it right.. I don't know how.. but just once, ONCE! I got the game to run totally smooth. (don't know what I did.) Then it just started crashing again... Now I got it back to where I was originally.. I seem to be able to increase the speed of the …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay, I have been hunting around in the Forums AND I re-installed the game. I think the whole problem has something to do with the SVGA Card requirement as the installer cannot determine the one used in DosBox. (I installed through DosBox.) Now, in the Forums I found a Thread regard SVGA Chipsets. …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay, dug up some info in hopes that someone out there may help me identify how to go about fixing my problem. The minimum specs to run Thunderscape are as follows: MS-DOS® 5.0, 6.0, or 6.2.2 386/DX 33 MHz processor 6 MB free hard disk space 2 MB RAM 2x CD-ROM SVGA video card Any takers? …

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

I tried that. The thing is in order for magic spells, weapon animations and sound to run smoothly is to set CPU to 1000 or less.. Which is nutz. because the rest of the game and game controls go to freezing levels of lethargy... 😵

Re: SSI's Thunderscape

Okay after alot of tinkering, I realise that on Dosbox 7.0, by over-clocking the CPU to MAX, the gameplay runs smoothly. However, casting spells and weapon animations cause the game to crash. After setting CPU cycles to 1000, I realise that the the spell animations a running smoothly. Now, I'm not a …

SSI's Thunderscape

Okay, I have some issues regarding the game THUNDERSCAPE by SSI. Thing is, installation and everything is not a problem. Running the game is a problem. When I try walking about in-game, it's kinda of slow. I get around this by increasing CPU cycles. (About 11000 before i get really really bad sound …
