I will try all those and report which one worked... @DosFreak: when I downloaded k-lite3.00f it would not install and said I should grab 2.88f which is the last version supporting win9x. Will search your pack though 😀

but that's only for mpeg4 stuff... tried the last win9x k-lite codec pack version 2.88f ... although you can play .mov files from mpc just fine it won't work with Wheel of Time for example. The movies just skip. Installing the awful QT fixes that...

Yet another q... anyone knows of a good codec pack for win9x? I don't like games installing their own clutter (for example wheel of time installed quick time 4 when all I needed was the codec...) and would like to have a bunch of codecs already in the system so I can opt out to install players and …

so theoretically one can have a voodoo2 for glide-only apps and a new-ish geforce for the rest... interesting! gonna slap a sli set in my p4 😁 disabling v2's d3d device is very easy, it's just a registry key that you delete 😊

Rekrul , are you running it maybe with a no-cd fix? if you are running it with the original cd it could worth the time to get a no-cd fix, it could be a problem with the game protection...

poking through windows system manager I found that the AGP driver is a microsoft one... strange since I installed Via4in1 drivers for my MVP3 mobo... I manually updated to the via "normal speed" agp driver, maybe that was the prob... does this seem a good decision replacing the driver?

I know that 5434 cards were made for the ISA bus too, never owned one though... would be interesting to see some speed benchmarks, hope someone here has such a card and willing to share the fun 😁

@noshutdown : I just press benchmark on the 3dmark2000, I don't change any setting , can't remember now the resolution but isn't the default 1024x768? will have to check it again....

Thought of that and I ran 3Dmark2000 benchmark 3 times in a row... wouldn't that stress the system enough? The p200mmx struggled and I got a measly 311 score LOL ... plus I did not have a game failing until now... only this fullscreen dos -> desktop gfx problem... ...maybe I am overeating, spoiled …

I am pretty satisfied my self but I had a failure this evening, using uharc in a full screen dos window and when the time came for the batch to kill the window and exit I found my self to some striped desktop 🤣 the driver had crashed but not that badly to freeze the computer.... had to hard reset

Hiya! Since I learned my lesson on the GeForce4 recommended driver version, does anyone have a suggestion for the Riva128zx one? Currently nVidia offers v3.37 (http://www.nvidia.com/object/riva_drivers.html) , but is this the best to use? Thanks as always for any suggestion(s)! 😊
