sam prob on my celeronD 2.8ghz machine... there is no way I can enable EMS... tried all the tips in bios , etc but no go. on my Athlon 2600+ ems works fine though... I did not find a solution as of yet, and I kind of abandoned the notion of having EMS on my celeron...

on my sb16 4.13 + DB60XG I have not yet discovered this bug... maybe it appears on specific daughterboards???

Then I guess that this game is simply not working on DOSBOX... if u tampered with memory and sound options and got nothing, then it won't work... although I am not a dosbox expert, I prefer real dos machines 😁

where can one see the dsp ver of a sb16??? I have a ct2980 and a HP (I think) ct2970... they both have a big ct2502-sqd chip and a small ct1978-tap one... now I use the 2970 (that does not have an IDE interface) but it has 2 weird rows of pins... one is called GOLD_FINCH and the other HP_FRONT_PANEL …

I doubt that 2 different voodoo cards can co-exist... the problem is, that glide drivers will always use the 1st card that the system finds, there is no option to choose voodoo renederer in any games I have seen... also the v1/v2 cards may be using the same addresses, so maybe they conflict too... …

back then , I had a voodoo2 12MB from Creative. ALL voodoo1 games run fine. then I got another cl v2/12MB and sli'ed them. again no probs. I don't see the point in having a v1 and v2, and I am sure this would cause probs...

tried spinrite, but no luck. in my experience, when a floppy is bad it is dead. I use HD-Copy 2.0a to make images and read/write. if sequential reading re-tries do not recover the data, there is no way to fix it... u can analyze all u want, the surface of the disk is dead... remember it is a floppy …

SoundBlaster 16 *PCI* ... just a marketing trick. the fact is, that it has almost nothing to do with the old SB16 ISA model. it is a PCI card and being a new card, it has many probs with old games that probe the ISA bus... those "16 PCI" cards where made by Ensoniq , and had some special -emulation- …

since u have a DOS setup, why not try ctcu from the creative pnp manager archive? it might work too... but win95/98 is good to have in case u wanna use network or usb1/2 for file transfers...

I have found a kind of workaround... but u need win95/98/me for this... *download creative pnp manager *since you have win95+ installed too, you can only run CTCM (and not ctcu to "write" the changes to the sb16 eprom...) *go to BIOS->PNP config, make "PNP OS Installed" to NO , and then switch the …

yeah, cd's are way safer, but floppy games... they rule!!! 😊 I made images of all my floppy games, only uw1 was damaged... I wonder if there is a place to download some disk images....

damn, I grabbed in nice cosmetical condition ULTIMA UNDERWORLD I from eBay, but unfortunatelly ALL 4 disks had read errors... bad luck! 😢 it was the hit squad re-release...

yes, there are some non-pnp card that don't have settings for everything... I wanna find one that has everything in jumpers...
