XT Clone, 4.77Mhz, Hercules Graphics and display, 20MB (Yes MB) Hard Card, Don't remember how much ram. This machine got an upgrade later to EGA and an IBM 5154 Monitor but that was the extent of it.

I'm not familiar with Phil's tools but my guess would be that you need to load a mouse driver in DOS.

No, in my experience, high end vs. low end isnt really an issue. However, ATI/AMD dies way more often than Nvidia hardware...at least in my personal experience.

With a quality VGA cable it can be hard to tell VGA from DVI. If you don't like the appearance try a different cable, or it could just be the monitor, or the card...

Here is the mixer I made a long time ago while learning about C programming and the Sound Blaster interface. It requires a mouse to work, and I think it assume port 220h. Sorry about the terrible look and crappy interface. I'll definitely update it soon as I am trying to resurrect my SB Pro card …

Personally I think the original sound blaster is the better audio experience. THe Sb Pro 2.0 sounds muffled to me. Is there any way to remove that muffled sounding filter from the SB Pro 2.0?

I accidentally just killed a network card. I was installing a soundcard and somehow, i guess, caused the network card to squirt out of the slot to some degree. Booted and saw smoke. The pins for the network card, 3 near the back, had melted. Thank god it wasnt the SB Pro 2 i was installing. I've got …

I hear a bunch of extra off-key notes and some hanging, my first suspicion would be the HardMPU but others might have a better idea for you. I don't have experience with the MPU.

I bought an X800 XTPE the day it was released originally, got a free Tshirt with it too. This is the only video card I've ever had die on me, so be careful. The Tshirt is good though I still wear it often.
