wd: I don't think there is a shareware version of Brief... but: Thanks to ripsaw8080! Setting BFLAGS=p helped - the cursor now appears correctly!

I'm trying to run the "Brief" editor in DOSBox 0.72 on Linux. It works, but the text cursor is invisible. Interestingly, there is a slight hint in the setup program that certain TSR programs might cause the cursor not to appear. Any hints how I could diagnose this problem further?
