Whoa, calm down. I found the game in the supported list, so I thought it would work for this too (like it worked on my other game of the same year)... Nevermind then.. it never said it couldn't run .exe files in the FAQ or the wiki.. I'm sure Microsoft offers support for a 13/14 year old game...

What do you mean with 'is a Windows executable, obviously?' I tried running it outside Dosbox before and it wouldn't work either, if that is what you mean. I checked the folder and it's the only thing with a '.exe' in it, so I guessed it would be that to activate.
