Re: DOSBox ECE (for Windows & Linux)

Is it possible to remove V-Sync in windowed mode somehow? I've tried a lot of different options in the config file and nothing seems to change the V-Sync for Jazz Jackrabbit. I get 60fps choppy gameplay. I also tried to add dosbox to Nvidia and turned off V-Sync there, but it doesn't make any …

Re: Gravis Ultrasound problem with dosbox

I still think there's some problem with the path you have. If you type ultrasnd\playmidi in DOSBox, does it start the playmidi program? Otherwise I'm not sure what's wrong. It will work with DOSBox 0.74 on this site. I suggest you download it and try to see if you can get it working.

Re: Gravis Ultrasound problem with dosbox

Works for me with or without PRO patches. This is my GUS config: gus=true gusrate=44100 gusbase=240 gusirq=5 gusdma=3 ultradir=C:\ULTRASND I don't get any music if the wrong path is used. Make sure it's set up properly (with my config I can access the ultrasnd folder by going to c: in DOSBox and …

Re: Gravis Ultrasound and Wacky Wheels (dosbox)

Anyone know why GUS support is broken for patched Apogee games? For instance, ROTT unpatched works OK with GUS FX and Music. Patched it crashes at loading sequence for level, if you can make it past the errors in the sound setup. Wacky Wheels, using full version "Registered and Upgraded" (I'm not …

One Must Fall 2097 is great. Death Rally is fun, but I don't know if it works over serial. Wacky Wheels maybe, but I don't think it has aged that well.

I'd like to hear how Blackthorne sounds on this. I'm not sure what soundcard the game was originally composed for, but I suspect it's SC-55 or SC-88. There's a demo here. http://www.classicdosgames.com/game/Blackthorne.html Would be mostly interested in the title, intro and first level.

Re: How to record FM music? (not with dosbox)

Noise often depends on what sound card you record from. I have a als100 sound blaster clone card which is very noisy, and a SB16 card which is a bit noisy, but much better than the former. One thing that will reduce noise is to lower the voice audio volume to zero in the sound card's mixer utility ( …

Re: Where is 0.74 CONF located?

Just saying, but I personally don't like how you now have to dig through the local settings folder to get to DosBox's conf file (yes, there's a shortcut to edit it, but it's just not the same). I know it was done this way to be more compliant with how Vista/7 does things, but I would still prefer …
