Re: The hatred of DosBox

"Z:\>mount f d:\ -t cdrom" I haven't used dosbox for quite a while, but doesn't this make drive d mounted as f, instead of the other way around? Meaning that the cdrom (which is usually d:\) called f in dosbox after this?

Re: GK1 day 10 fatal error!!!!!!

"I then used a friends cd and i got a similar error message earlier in the game...." Why not use that cd with your savegame of just before the error. Either that, or copy the entire cd contents to your harddrive, and make sure the resource.cfg file points to that location... then you could (if the …

Re: Gabriek Knight - The Beast Within - Sound Problems

Here my own notes on how to install and run GK2. Notes to install in dosbox step 1. run Dosbox and enter the following to install GK2: ===================================================== mount C C:\ mount F F:\ -t cdrom F: install ===================================================== where C is …

Re: help choosing a file

Ripping the tracks to mp3 is the best solution, I think. Either that, or copy the game files …

Re: Better resolution in old Windows games

Erm... about Grim Fandango... you can only try using FSAA. As you might know, Grim Fandango uses prerendered backgrounds. A similiar patch to Monkey Island 4's screen resolution thinghy is in fact possible, but since the backgrounds are only (I believe) 800x600, those are getting pretty small when …

Re: Better resolution in old Windows games

Plus, there's a(n unofficial) patch for Monkey Island 4 which allows you to play it in a higher resolution. It works because it has something to do with... erm... all sorts of technical gibberish which I'll spare you from (and me, since I didn't quite get it either ;p). Anyway, check the attachment, …

Re: Beneath a steel sky - CD version

sorry for reviving an old topic like this, but... i got it all to work! first of all, i copied all the data files to my harddrive... after doing that, i installed the game. i looked at the newly created .BAT file and it said something strange, (and upon execution it made dosbox crash) but it seemed …
