You could always try running Gabriel Knight 2 using DosBox. Did that myself and didn't experience any real problems. Just giving an alternative... (of course, that's if you're willing to run the dos version of Gabriel Knight 2)

I believe they mentioned that it was a Windows issue. Most Windows' versions can't really deal with reading both data off the CD-rom (the game) as well as the music (analog music that is) at the same time. Ripping the tracks to mp3 is the best solution, I think. Either that, or copy the game files …

Erm... about Grim Fandango... you can only try using FSAA. As you might know, Grim Fandango uses prerendered backgrounds. A similiar patch to Monkey Island 4's screen resolution thinghy is in fact possible, but since the backgrounds are only (I believe) 800x600, those are getting pretty small when …

sometimes you can skip scenes like that (with Esc probably), or maybe just disabling sound or something like that in the setup of GK would help...

maybe it would be wise to install the game to a different location than the location of where you copied the CD-rom to your harddisk. anyway, have you tried out the suggestions/advices made in the following topic? Gabriel knight 1 hope this helps...
