I thought it worked as long it's an x86 CPU? It should be possible to boot from a USB CD-ROM drive, wich allows you to install MS-DOS 7.10 😀

Crap 🙁 VMWare Player was fast as hell, so it's a shame there's no compatible display driver.

Just downloaded VMWare Player, and noticed it's a lot faster. Does anyone know what video/sound driver I should use? EDIT: I hereby claim page 3 as mine 😀

Use Virtual PC instead. If you install Windows 98 on it you get nifty things such as folder sharing, optimized graphics driver and cursor integration. Well, if you install Virtual Machine Additions.

Virtual PC is better for running Windows 3.x in general, except for MIDI sound. Listening to MIDI music in VPC makes your ears bleed.

I never got any problems with Windows 3.1 crashing due to sound drivers. I guess this might decreases startup time, though. But MIDI music still sounds like complete shit 😜

I use Virtual PC. It emulates an S3 Trio 64 graphics card. You need MS-DOS, though. There are Virtual Machine Additions for DOS somewhere on vetusware, but I'm too lazy to find it.

I really don't know so much about DOSBox, but try to update to Ubuntu 9.10. It's got loads of new stuff, although some screensavers were removed.

You should try and install it in Virtual PC. Virtual PC allows installing Virtual Machine Additions, wich enables folder sharing with the host computer. It also has better video drivers, and internet accessability.
