I couldn't care less about XP's support ending if that only means they'll break windows update. But if Microsoft decides to remove backwards compatibility from MSVC like they did with Windows 2000, that might be a problem. Well for now assuming the software is compiled explicitly for xp stuff …

I dont think I have an answer to that question, I expect if I was going to play one or the other anytime soon it would be Unreal because I've only finished it once but I don't think I'd say one or the other. What I should do is go finish Strife instead that sounds like a much better idea.

ooo thats clever using the bubble wrap for cpus and I have stacks from when I buy new stuff from pccasegear (online australian hardware store thingo) I think I'm happy to just leave the heatsinks in a shoebox or something though since theres no pins to worry about there.

There are two ways of removing the battery theres the lazy way which is to cut off the legs and take it off possibly have to twist it off if its glued on. Or you can desolder it from the board, if you dont have a soldering iron I would recommend just cutting it off and disposing of the battery.
