Not sure if this is the cause, but I think MinGW has upgraded GCC to the version 5 branch since those instructions were done. Revert to the version 4 branch and see if that helps. Copy code to clipboard 1 mingw-get remove gcc-g++ 2 mingw-get install gcc-g++="4.9.*" Let me know how you get on.

Here is a 64bit DOSBox for Windows if anyone is interested. I loaded up King's Quest, and it seems to work. Compiled on Ubuntu 15.04 using MinGW-W64.

Make sure the file is called dosbox.conf and not dosbox-0.74.conf. You can also see in the status windows what config file DOSBox is using.

There should be a shortcut on your "Start Menu" to reset your DOSBox configuration, give that a go. Or run the DOSBox exe directly instead of using a shortcut?

I never looked into this further, I ended up using MAME. I've since found UME (http://mamedev.emulab.it/haze/) which is MAME + MESS if that helps.

Saving and loading games is done within the game itself. If it's not working, then like collector said, you will have to check with the FreeBox guys why it isn't working.
