Re: Use the Source, Luke!

Inspired by this thread: http://www.vogons.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=1497 I think thats the first time i've ever inspired someone. LOL Add Rowan's Mig Alley to that list http://www.simhq.com/_downloads/downloads_air.html and Enemy Engaged Comanche vs Hokum http://eech.bollocks.net.nz/index.php …

Re: v1.24 now out

Drat I just lost my entire post. I don't think I can do as good again. LOL Ok I posted in Glidos and not OpenGLide. Yes, I know it is OpenGLide - a file from within your program "Glidos" that is being used by the RB3D community. FB created it, but your modifications made it practical for use in RB3D …

Re: v1.24 now out

Anything useful for in the RB3D wrapper version? I'm starting to feel massive headaches coming on with Kess releasing his "Full Canvas Jacket" mod soon. LOL The headaches from that "Sold Out Software" version are bad enough. LOL Did you happen to see the mention of GLIDOS in the June "Computer Games …

Nicht Sehr Gut wrote: I think you can safely refer to that in past tense. Hmm, not so sure about that. Only the real nutcases(like me) have been here so far, the huddled masses may visit next. Its just a shame that the source didn't get Falcon 4'd by somebody, better yet just given away like …

number/speed of chat lines

When you're sitting on the runway in RB3D MMP you can "right click" on your screen and then get into the menu to reduce the amount of chat shown on your screen at one time - for those that didn't know. There are two sliders to play around with and find what works best for you.

SP1

The thing of it was that it was telling me that it was a "critical update". Like they were going to force me onto explorer 6.0, kind of confused me. I've kept up to date pretty much monthly the whole time i've had the computer. I'll try it again soon and see if it gives me the same results.

SP1

Ran "windows update" just a few nights ago and it wanted me to download XP/explorer6 SP1 for my 98SE/explorer 5.5 operating system. We'll I think it was only a few files from it according to the download size shown, but I didn't do it. Seemed kind of odd to me.

How it looks

Snover wrote: The site for that game doesn't have any PR stuff, so I don't know what the engine looks or runs like, but hopefully it doesn't look anything like the A-10 engine, heh... Found a site with the demo (I think) and changed the link above. Heres a picture hopefully if it uploads.

another flight sim

How about "Fighter Squadron: Screamin' Demons over Europe" to add to the list. Uses the OpenPlane engine. Still has a big community and probably will for a long time since IL2 isn't very open. http://www.fightersquadron.com/cgi/ultimatebb.cgi Engine by Parsoft http://www.openplane.org/ Think there …

Re: Cool down...

But, let me ask you, why are you using OpenGLide if you already have native Glide? :) Paul(Glidos) asked for some feedback on the use of the wrapper with voodoo cards. I wasn't worried about my card, but thought maybe a few of the low end users(non-voodoo) might need extra cooling if their cards …

OpenGLide and heat

Does glide run hotter than openGL? I've been wondering if running OpenGLide would generate more heat on a video card than running OpenGL? What made me think of this was the fact that my voodoo 3000 didn't come with any kind of fan, but 3dfx would let you add a 486 fan to the heatsink without voiding …

GoldFinger wrote: Hey All, We need more votes to improve Glidos and OpenGLide compatibility and features. PLEASE! Posted links to this thread tonight at a few RB3D boards so hopefully you'll get more input!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: voodoo Attn: JFM

However, a slight problem. Although the game looks visually excellent, there is absolutely no sound of any kind. I am not computer savvy, and my troubleshooting consisited of different settings within RB3D--nothing. So, I got rid of the new files and went back to the old files--still nothing! So, I …

Re: Re: voodoo

Glidos can make fixed 640x480 game run at 1280x1024, so Voodoo owners do use Glidos. RB3D already runs in 1280x1024 on voodoo cards with "Glide" selected in the preferences. At least I think thats true for all voodoo cards. Definitely works in 1280x1024 on my voodoo 3000 using glide. Now if you …

voodoo

Snover: I think, at some stage, I asked if people with Voodoo cards would do this comparisen. Yep, you asked for glide card feedback in the Capt Royce "thank you thread". The fact that we have old cards and still want to play RB3D in glide in the future with new graphic cards is why we have such a …

Re: Whats your Video Board (Chipset)?

We want to know what is your veideo board/chipset so we can target OpenGLide to reach the most of you and we can know what extensions we can use. Please use the Poll and post the OpenGLid.log file to us. I'm currently running a voodoo 3 3000 AGP, but i'm not concerned with its functioning with …

Re: Re: Joysticks and RB3D glide cursors

Sounds good. How do I recognise an offer as being for the older version? Look at http://www.pricewatch.com under "Game Hardware" then "Sidewinder". I see one listed, but you might want to either call or email the actual shop selling them. Think it was 3DShop or something like that. My MS Precision …

Joysticks and RB3D glide cursors

Still not sure what joystick to buy. For now, I want one with a twisting yoke, but I've seen some terrible reviews about the Precision 2. They say it is no where near as good as the one it replaces. Maybe the Precision Pro 2 is better. Also there's the Top Gun Fox Pro, but there seems to be about …
