Re: dune 2 mouse issue

Selecting multiple units by dragging a rectangle over them was a feature that was introduced by Blizzard in Warcraft: Orcs & Humans, the first game in the Warcraft franchise. It was such an improvement in terms of playability, that Westwood quickly adopted it in their RTS games as well, starting …

Re: Advanced Disney Sound Source prototype

I love DIY projects like this. :) Great job so far. Some things I would very much like to see in a DSS-on-steroids: * 100% downwards compatibility with the actual Disney Sound Source (duh) * A Covox Speech Thing (and possibly also stereo-on-one) compatibility mode by bypassing the FIFO buffer, as …

Have you considered going the cross-compiling route and using DJGPP with a modern IDE in a newer OS? On GitHub I found build-djgpp , a script that downloads, builds and installs DJGPP as a cross-compiler on modern operating systems (Windows, macOS and Linux). The PCI-e limitation in GPU passthrough may be lifted once hypervisors start supporting GART, which currently wreaks havoc with IOMMUs. Of course, there is not a lot of …

Re: Steam and XP

Have you tried uploading those DLLs to VirusTotal ? In case you're not familiar with it yet, it's an on-line free virus scanning service owned by Google. It'll use a large number of different virus scanners, including all of the well-known ones, to scan your upload for possible malware. You can also …

I don't know if Klingon Honor Guard supports Glide (3dfx), but if it does, this topic might be of interest to you: https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=60950 Alternatively, have you tried running that game under Wine? You'd be surprised how well Wine on Linux supports older Windows games. It …
