Sound usually has to be configured in Dosbox for each game in their respective setup programs (usually called setup.exe, setsound.exe, install.exe or something similar), since that is how things worked on real DOS-era computers. Dosbox is emulating a Sound Blaster compatible card. Your physical …

The black screen problem seems to be a DirectDraw problem fixable by dgVoodoo2, DxWnd or DDrawCompat. Maybe its a generic issue. Yup, Dgv2 fixes it. I previously thought it couldn't work in conjunction with RReady, but it actually does. Ideally though, this wrapper should include its own fixes to …

HG1 textures still borked (especially obvious in training missions 2, 3, 4. First one is okay for some reason). Menu still black after missions.

It is all about single core performance for CPU emulation and modern architectures are just much better at that and are higher clocked too. Also, "good" isn't always enough when you want to emulate a faster computer... Yea, that's why I was puzzled by the comparisons to the many-core high-end CPUs …

You can't "install" an iso file. You can mount it and then install the game from it. This question was answered in your previous thread: Mounting Game in Windows 3.1

Same way you mount an image in Dosbox, but add your mount command at the end of the conf file. You can't mount while 3.1 is running.
