Is 16 bit output supported already with the current release? With my AWE64 I only managed to get 8 bit sound out of it.

Modded my Athlon 600 in an Inwin A500 case. It was quite rare, but that was the appeal of it, to have something special. I did about the same as Imi mentioned, installed an industrial fan, cut a window. And regarding the “all cases were white”… well, that was all the more reason to spray paint it. …

Maybe the new battery has lower voltage then the original and it is sinking the power supply to the CMOS chip below it’s operating voltage. But that would only be the case if it was connected to the original barrel battery leads/solder pads.

fullresolution =original can also ruin the party, when your graphics card or monitor don’t support the original resolution. Better to set the fullresolution to your panel resolution in that case.

I have a question about the AWE64 support. If I use UNISOUND to initialise it, and after that I use Creative's mixerset app (to have a graphical UI to set the mixer or to set controls that UNISOUND does not support) then after that UNISOUND can no longer see the AWE64 even though it still works fine …

I second that. Even playback of other formats has soms small bugs still, and it is less stable. But of all players it is the one with the best allround support until now. Well maybe it can be replaced by a new player that is actively developed, one day…

I have an old Dell 15” TFT monitor with VGA only and it does do 70Hz no problem. It could be any other lead connected to your PC carrying ground. Like the VGA cable or maybe even a Ethernet lead that uses shielding.

I think for a GUSpnp you should use the FT2 builds that are shared here ( Fasttracker 2.12 for MS-DOS ) on this forum by 8bitbubsy because the last official build has broken GUS support by trying to add GUSpnp functionality.

If you mean the phase/chorus effects, it’s because some samples are played at two channels at once to increase the total volume in the mix. That is fine with software mixing on a Sound Blaster (which is what the music was written for) but on a GUS the play commands for the two channels vary slightly …
