Well I'm using an SB0060 which sounds fine, and works great under 98 and the few dos games I've tried pick up its SB16 emulation just fine. SB0060 is a SoundBlaster Live 5.1

Ok well tested, retested, and test again, and my 98 box even wtih a new standalone nic is only hitting 48mb/s transfer speeds, the nic is a trendnet gb card, hard drive was replaced with a segate 7200.7 80gb, and its running on an XP 2800+ KT333 chipset with ATA133 support. Really confused on why …

I don't really understand why people pay $6+ for AS5 when $2-3 stuff is at most 1-2c worse. I think that the buying of AS5 is more about the brand rather than it's effectiveness honestly anyone paying for AS5 is still living in 2005, I happily pay 20 bucks for a big tube of Antec Nano Diamond 7, …

Athlon XP 1700+ Palamino, I had my original chip until this March when I gave it to my girl to wear around her neck. The chip died from a lighting strike back in 2004, but It was the first CPU I paid for 😁

honestly for GTA and Quake I'd try to find a K6 233, the board offically supports it, and it should be faster than a Pentium 233MMX or see if you can find a K6-2 266 and use the 3dnow patch, would make it much better for what you intend to do.
