Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

I found out from the FAQ that Ratoc sold DOS drivers separately for 5000 yens. Vendor code - REX-71A. That is why it's not available online. And also they made sure drivers were not interchangeable. Same for 5572. https://www.ratocsystems.com/services/faq/5571.html#5571-1 They sold the 5571 DOS …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

What does the 5570 driver's output say? I never used the 5570 in Win3.x, only in DOS, and i definitely used it with my sc-55mk2. The driver displays usual info as if it's a correct card: Socket=0 Port = 220 Int=9 Hmm, so maybe 5572 is not supposed to work like this? But I can see all same switches …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

The 3 Ratoc cards all use the same audio chip, the ess1688p. In theory, the DOS driver for the 5570 should work. Or you could try the one for the 5572 and use the switch to deactivate the scsi function if it's possible to do that. http://nwserveur.no-ip.org/win3xorg/devices/PCMCIA%20Sound%20Cards/ …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

Does anybody here have any experience with getting PCMCIA sound cards to work in DOS on a desktop PC through a PCMCIA PCI adapter? Yes, I have ISA and PCI PCMCIA adapters, what do you want to know? I was wondering about DOS support for the PCI PCMCIA adapters that I occasionally see come by on eBay …

Re: PCMCIA Sound Cards

The first post of this thread mentions 5571 = 5570 + joystick port. There's also mentions that 5571 = 4871/9871. Have you tried the drivers for these? Also, found a link that may be of interest hopefully: http://www.win3x.org/win3board/viewtopic.php?style=30&t=19261 Good luck! :) Thank you, pool7 . …

Re: Looking to buy 3dfx Voodoo 5 5500 PCI

Whoops, I was not aware of that rule. Thanks for letting me know, it won’t happen again! Price isn’t the issue, PCI cards are just much harder to come by. There are several Voodoo 5 AGP cards on eBay right now, but no PCI versions (save for a Macintosh version). That’s why turned to this forum for …

"Monster Attack" looks promising! Turbular Worlds does not scroll so nice on Mac as on PC due to the upscaling of the 320x200 to 640x400. Same goes for JazzJackRabbit2 on Mac with no hardwarescrolling. ---edit: Monster Attack is Krypton Egg ? Every tenth level in Krypton Egg is a special level, …

Turbular worlds has also very nice gfx a stutterfree-scrolling. nice! It's a great game, been enjoying it since I found the demo on a coverdisc in 94... Tried the Mac version today on my 6100, because why not play both versions at the same time! tubworldmacdemointro.png If you like Breakout clones, …
