Re: Quicktime in Windows 3.1

The "c:\drivers\s3" is automatically typed in, as I typed it in before that just before installing, what do you mean you typed it in before ? according to the guide you only type it in once When I first run Setup and choose to select to install the driver from a folder, I type in the address and …

if you follow the guide the windows 3.1 setup installs the s3 drivers you shouldnt be trying to installing them again Huh? The guide details how to install 3.1, but how to install s3 is later, and seems to indicate that Windows needs to be installed already. The default driver is VGA, and the …

I should point out an odd hiccup when I installed the S3 video driver. As before, I have to run the "Setup" from Windows itself (if I try to run it from DOSBox, I get the install program instead.) When I tried to install the S3 card, it seems to go okay, but then it says to insert a disk or type in …

I cannot reproduce this at all. I just made sure to run a (pretty) pristine US Windows 3.1 install (not WfW 3.11). Tried with your conf (just reset the [cpu] section and disabled fullscreen) and Quicktime installer for 2.1.2. Installed fine without a problem and reported that it successfully …

Did you do anything else to the dosbox.conf? In this particular experiment, no. I'll go ahead and post my .conf settings(as they are after the experiment): # This is the configurationfile for DOSBox 0.74. (Please use the latest version of DOSBox) # Lines starting with a # are commentlines and are …

try pentium and 386. Try setting the core to simple. Okay, I tried setting the core to simple, and the CPU type for pentium, and all the variations on 386 that were listed in the options as examples. None of them worked; Quicktime still doesn't install correctly. (386_prefetch actually caused …

less than 127 mb I may be doing it wrong, because when I typed in "mount c c:\doswin -freesize 126" (as well as mounting the virtual d drive to my real f drive), it still didn't install correctly. Of course, I was trying to reinstall the program, both with the reinstall application that was in the …

Okay, when I use the one that was linked to in that guide, and then I try to install Quicktime 32, I get this error: "Win32s -Error QT32INST.EXE Unhandled Exception detected. (Code: 0xC0000094 QT32INST.EXE:6ED5) Application will be terminated." I have no idea why this happened.

I thought anyone asking for windows 3.1 stuff here is down with the guide http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?t=9405 I didn't read the part about other drivers. ^_^ Anywho, Win32s seems to install okay, but when I try to install the 32 bit version of quicktime, I get three error reports, one after …

Verify that QuickTime for Windows was installed correctly. A sure way to tell would be to open your control panels and look for a control panel named "QuickTime 32". If the control panel is not there, then you have not installed QuickTime by double-clicking on QT32INST.EXE. If the control panel is …

2.1.2. It's the version that comes with Myst. I'm pretty sure that's the same version that other threads say is the one that works the best, so I don't know what's going on.
