Re: INCA CD

in DOS
hi again. finally i found time to look into it. the CD data track contents are as follows: Directory of F:\ 01.01.1601 01:00 11.085 ALL.ASK 01.01.1601 01:00 15 BINCA.BAT 01.01.1601 01:00 10 INCA.BAT 01.01.1601 01:00 1.469 INCA.LIC 01.01.1601 01:00 1.368 INCA.RAC 01.01.1601 01:00 18.789 INSTALL.EXE …

Re: INCA CD

in DOS
seems like there are major differences between my version and yours. i will post a file list in a few days and see if i can tell the version and origin.....

Re: INCA CD

in DOS
again, i am no noob. off course there is one large CDDA track. but thats not my problem, i just wonder why the actual DATA files are just so small. the box reads something about FMV. ok, FMV is not always video, but the datat is too small even for some nice graphics. i thought that the game maybe …

Re: INCA CD

in DOS
first: what confuses me the most is the fact that the actual data on CD is less than 400 kB (and don't tell me about hidden files, i am no noob). and: i do only have INCA, not INCA 2 running the setup in dosbox tells me "a CD drive is needed to install". and yes, of course i mounted with type "cdrom …

INCA CD

in DOS
hi folks! i tried runnning the CD version of INCA (dunno if a floppy version does exist), and it doesn't work anywhere, no matter if i try in DosBOX, Virtual PC or native windows 2000. the problem is that it is from '92 i think, and the CD maybe somewhat non-standard. seems there is even some " …

Re: Re-Loaded 95 : no win32 exe file?

in Windows
another option is the following program: PE Validator by LaZaRuS get it here: http://protools.anticrack.de/files/utilities/pevalid.zip this one is made for exactly this problem. it corrects the header of such files which win2k/XP report as "this file is not a valid Win32 Executable"... //EDIT: …

Re: Re-Loaded 95 : no win32 exe file?

in Windows
hi folks! i did it! now the windows version works perfectly. it was simple: i thought the problem is some exe header windows doesn't feel right about. so, how can i change the exe header to a valid one? simple, i took UPX and compressed the exe file. now it works! so, when getting the "no valid …

Re: Re-Loaded 95 : no win32 exe file?

in Windows
@CinciTech: does that mean win2K/XP aren't compatible to 16bit applications anymore? the interesting thing is: i managed to run old applications from windows 3.11 on XP! that included the file manager, some 3rd party apps and a reversi game which was a native win16 application...

Re: Re-Loaded 95 : no win32 exe file?

in Windows
just to clarify: the exe file is a native win95 exe. it runs in a window. so no, it is in no way a dos or win16 file, since it is explicitly described as win95 specific. also there is no newer patch! the file cannot be corrupt, since the patch didn't come as a plain zip, but a patcher. everything …

Re-Loaded 95 : no win32 exe file?

in Windows
hi folks! i tried to install the game "Re-Loaded" by gremlin. it is a DOS game originally, but there is a patch which "upgrades" the game to a native win 95 application. the prob when trying to start the exe file in winXP (SP1) is: when i doubleclick the exe, a msgbox appears saying something like " …

Re: RFE: uncompressed avi/image sequence output

i got really stuttering wave file when i made a wave output. the problem is that i have a non-interactive game demo which is simply one video. it's from the game "Hardline". there are no external decoders for the format (HNS/HNM4 used by Cryo Interactive games) and so my only way is to record from …

RFE: uncompressed avi/image sequence output

i posted a feature request in sf.net i would like to discuss the possibilities and problems with this RFE. here is my original post: it would be some real nice feature to record a sequence from dosbox vga output to a file. best would be an uncompressed avi file. if that is too much complicated to …

Re: MT-32 with ScummVM ports

improving the drivers code to run on different OSes would do more sense, cause you could simply run the driver and enable "true mt-32" in scummvm... why is the emu that processor-intensive??? in my theory it just grabs the command, gets the PCM data, adjusts the pitch and routes it to the mapper... …

clicking sounds in dosbox release

when i run lure of the temptress in the dosbox release, the sound clicks and is very ugly (but the music itself sounds great with mt-32 emulation!). may that be because my cpu is only 800 Mhz (Athlon) ? another question: how are chances that the driver release will run under win 98 in the future?
