If you can go with a K6-3, go for it. They are awesome cpus. Even if you had to underclock one down to 300-350 mhz to get it to work you'd see a nice boost over the Pentium 233 with your SLI config. Just to give you a idea of how well they perform at 400mhz: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a66/ …

Try hitting F3 to F5 key or something. Seems like I remember one of the "F" keys switching video modes on the game so that it would work with certain cards better.

Does DOS actually support SLI? I thought about replacing the GPU setup with a Voodoo3 2000 to swap 3 cards for just 1 card and dropping the loopback cable to maybe improve 2D display quality. Yeah but the MX 4000 PCI is too slow. I'm factoring in compatibility, me wanting it to be from a Nvidia GF 2-3 card line due to temps and power draw, and performance. Awesome. Both 7600 and 6800 are pretty nice for some of that older XP gaming. 😀 I actually used to use the Radeon 9600 in a couple of builds too. I liked those cards too for what they were. The last Omega Driver release works with them pretty well if I remember right.

There are plenty of people out there better then me at modding definitely. I try to stick to the basics these days due to time limits, but I do love solving problems and figuring out new stuff when I can. Its all fun in the end, and thats what it should be, fun. 😀

You can use a dremel to make custom i/o plates? Wouldn't some of the corners be too small for the dremel to cut out? Btw, using thin plastic is a very good idea (if you don't mind radio interference to cross through the plastic. But theres always aluminium foil :P Depends on what kind of dremel kit …
