This methode is mentioned before I guess but have you tried CLI2NOP from the SoundFX package? This litle tool forces somehow (don't ask how) the game to run with your souncard settings. Give it a shot maybe it works and if not, well then you have to seek out for some other rescources... Kicklighter

I think that now all the files are installed in the VDMSound dir (c:\progra~1'\VDMSound\) I have now 30 files in the dir, which includes TipOf Day.dll. But for some reason when I hit the shortcut Tip of the Day nothing happens. I see the harddrive load just for a few seconds and then he stops. Here …

Hi, I tired to install vdmsound 2.0.4 but during the installation I get an error that says can't load modules into registery or something like that. So I'm forced to cancel the installation. Is there a way to overcome this error? Thanks Kicklighter

You are right I was able to install it under Quicktime 6.5.1 but the game doesn't look like it suppose to be. Maybe it's an option to install Win 3.1 under dosbox and than install the game on top of it but if that's work I really don't know.

Thanks for putting so much work in it but it doesn't work on my machine. When I start nfs he flips back to the desktop. But it was worth trying, fortunely I still have the d3d graphics and they don't look that bad! Kicklighter

Finaly it work out good. I got the 16-bit graphics and the game runs smooth now. But curious as I am I still question is it posible to get voodoo 2 graphics somehow as earlier mentioned. And how can I do that and most inportant where do I get the files though I did a search for the files on the net …

I discoverd when adding extra cycles the beeping noise goes almost away. Only then the game runs slowers. I added as much cycles as possible, still the beeping noise remains. And then the game is so slow that i cant play the game anymore....
