The Rage 3 is a very underrated generation, culminating nicely with the Rage XL. It's too bad that the final drivers break paletted texture support and have problems with 16-bit dithering, which do not appear in earlier drivers.

A 486 would do better with a USB 1.1 card, if you're only using it for mouse support. You can also get a serial expansion card.
