I've been trying to convert Wohlstand's OPL3 drum banks to IBK for use with Allegro using OPL3 instrument editor, but if the percussion type is generic then the instrument is blanked out so I tried to use bass drum but the instruments are messed up. Any ideas on how to combat this?

You can just run doom.exe on DosBox without Windows 3.1. It's not meant to be run under Windows 3.1 anyway.
