Re: SMP enabled games (pre-2005)

All the id games back to Quake 1 support SMP (well, multithreading at any rate). Another is Rowan's Battle of Britain (it's playable if you get the BDG -- BoB Developer Group -- patch). Also MiG Alley by the same company.

I guess you'll simply have to be content to play 3 great games for Windows 98 😉 Seriously though, what were these games' titles? Were they full versions, or simply shareware/demos?

GPartEd is linux-based boot disc which does everything you need it to do, is easy to understand and use, and is completely free: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ I'd recommend it to everyone over Ghost for everything besides image file creation, which it doesn't feature.
