Great ty. I have the Realtek 8139d and Realtek has a driver for dos and win98 but I don't feel like tweaking and troubleshooting to get it working on win95. I'll try the Intel pro100s.

Or even gigabit if there is one. I need the drivers to work well in both win95 and dos. Is there a list of compatible chipsets? Preferably the pci form factor and wired, no wireless. -Tristan

Turned out it was a bad cable. I ordered one fresh and the left and right channels work properly. 😊

The jack I use to connect to line-in on the back of the pci sound blaster card is stereo. It has two of those black rings.

I got the PIIX4E.EXE bin from the dell website for the dell dimension xps d___ series in the windows 98 menu. When I run it it says that the drivers are meant for Windows 95 and gives me a chipset model. I've looked at other places but come up empty. Anybody know a good repo for old win98 drivers?

I am running Windows XP and it keeps crashing a few minutes in. It's patched to the latest patch. Is there anything I can do to lessen the crashes? Will it crash less running on Windows 98SE? -Tristan

One thing that worries me is that the ati stb velocity 128 riva card doesn't get detected in Windows 98 Add New Hardware Wizard, not does it come out as a Display Adapter in Device Manager.

On the part of extracting pacific.z01 - pacific.z08 How would you do it using pkunzip? So each of the 8 parts makes up 1 zip file? It is a multi-part archive? How would I extract it?
