Wait, so if i have 3x CT2230 (I have 3 SB16's) in my PC it will improve sound performance? Can any one explain a bit?

A normal mechanical Keyboard with a DIN connector. That one is ok, but there are better ones. You can find a DIN>PS/2 converter for less than 5$, but i dont think all DIN keyboards work on PS/2.

This is Windows 98/DOS 7.1 The demos load into memory, the program displays them playing, but no sound.

Ok, ive set the HEX to 220 and CD IRQ to 10, DMA to 1, etc etc. The GUS is detected now and the program gives it a PASS on every test, but still NO SOUND! Windows doesnt even detect it (says unknown hardware on IRQ11), plus after driver install i had to restore win.com... Any one? [Edit] The MIDI is …

Ok, i had one NEC USB 2.0 card in it, im gonna take that out. The -5 Rail provides 0.3A. I dont know where to start searching for that, thats why i opened this topic, i guess some one could point me to the usual problems right away.

I bough a full pack GUS Max v2.1 with all papers, box, and everything a few days ago for something like 5$, as well as AWE64 gold with all cables and stuff... And I cant seem to get GUS to work in Windows 2000, and also in DOS. Windows does not detect it, Dos says the card is busy when it tests it. …

Oh i see, i also have the Value version. But ive read that the DAC is much more improved in AWE64 Gold, and i really would love to experience that :) I will make a converter. Ive bought an AWE 64 Gold for 2$ on a yard sale, and have been wondering, can any of the two line in jacks be used as a head phone jack, or do i need to make a converter for the outputs? And can some one point me to a thread/website about AWE64 and MIDI (sound fonts etc)? Thanks.

Ok, i have reinstalled windows on the Samsung drive and installed MS-DOS 7.1 The app does not work at all. So it wasn't the hard drive in my opinion but the program it self or some configuration issue. Might be a speed issue as one member mentioned. Also, now the volume is 2x louder than it was in …

Yes the CDROM is disabled on all 3 cards i have. How do i disable UltraDMA in Windows 98se? And what IRQ conflicts should i search for? In the device manager nothing is reported under 5 , and there are lots of things under 11. A little deeper explanation would be grateful, i am not that informed on …

It had exact same problems with Quantum fireball 2GB, Seagate 3GB and Seagate 4.3GB.

The thing is, the widnows system and everything else installed on the hard drives is identical to the samsung hard drive where it works perfectly... Well maybe not identical, i did add some stuff to the sys.ini (himem, etc), but i doubt thats the cause. Oh, and i did install some drivers for SB Live …

Strange, i didn't experience any speed issues. I am running it on a Dell OptiPlex system, 700MHz Pentium III. But that might be it, but i highly doubt it since it works perfectly on a 3GB Samsung HDD...
