No no, the DXR3 is a pci card Creative sold to decode MPEG2(DVD) and I use to use one with my Pentium 233. It worked good, but at the time I had a cruddy monitor and my headphones were uncomfortable after an hour.so it was better to watch DVDs on my Xbox/TV.

At one of my local surplus places I just saw a DXR3 card in the bins. I think that only requires a P133.

Unless they used mini-coax cable to keep the impedance of the wire right at 75-Ohm, and unless those are special, 75-Ohm RCA connectors, and only if the shielding in said coax was soldered correctly to the connector to retain near perfect 75-Ohm impedance, would that cable be worth any money... but …

It may be though, that your Live! had issues (typical for Live!) with your MoBo (pops/clicks in games). Maybe try disabling ACPI in the BIOS and making sure Windows doesn't try to use it either? Perhaps reserving an IRQ for that pci slot in the BIOS?

Hmm, good question. I just acquired one of these at a surplus place for a dollar and found there were no XP drivers. Grrr. Thought it was Vortex2, but I'll have to check, again.

I don't want to install mods as i want the game to look original That's actually too bad because that popular mod that makes all the models look more realistic, I forget the name, actually helps the game run better because the guy who did the models is so much better than Bethesda's guy at the time …

IIRC, its important to use utilities like MBRWizard to properly align the media to avoid stuttering, and actually set the drive as a bootable media/primary partition.
