Those later games use a DOS extender (e.g. DOS4GW), SoftMPU doesn't work with those protected mode games.

Gateway is really finicky. I would try a slowdown program and also the CT2940 to see if there's any change.

I haven't had any reports of success with the AZT2320, however the faster machines are often problematic. If a slowdown utility doesn't help I would try something from the compatibility list e.g. SB16.
