I'll add that when the issue is occuring, it's cyclical. DOSBox, and the game, 'stutters' along for a few seconds than it comes out of the state runs smoothly for a few seconds and then begins stuttering once more.

Ok, I fixed the problem. The B-Wing Tour of Duty patch includes updated XWING.INT, YWING.INT, and AWING.INT files that are supposed to over-write the existing files in the XWING\CP directory. Ah, nevermind, I got it working. Something was screwy or corrupt with the squadrons. I just deactivated them all and created two new ones on each system and it worked great. I also turned Object and Altitude Data off on both machines. Maybe that made the difference. But it's working like a champ now …
