Over many tests this was the highest speed my combination was able to achieve. I've seen people go higher than this, but after trying a number of both genuine K6-3+ chips and cache modified K6-2+ 570s, I've never been able to reliably go higher than this. I even recapped the board, but nope.

Can someone modbin or something this freeway ultra bios to add the option? Maybe. I used Modbin to see if I could enable bank interleave on my Soyo 5EMA+, but it wasn't hidden, it wasn't there at all (and BIOS modding beyond that is above my pay grade). So I used the Breese patch on that board.

My Asus K8V SE worked very well with Windows 98. There is a known bug with some Socket 754 motherboards where AGP performance suffers with later BIOS, so you have to be aware of that. Have you run the Direct X tests? Is this the only game you have an issue with? Have you tried any video benchmarks to see if any of them have an issue?

I use one of these with my M930 (and a couple of other boards). I like them because they plug into the IDE socket for a tidy installation (using a SATA cable to the drive instead of IDE) and they have worked fine for me. Usually sold under the name StarTech.

Here's my PCChips M930, SiS 645, DDR, and a 2.8 533 P4 with an inexpensive SSD using the onboard IDE with an adapter. This is lightning fast with Windows 98.

The 4.17 I linked are for Win98. I don't usually bother to install chipset drivers with XP on MVP3 motherboards, I've found the ones that XP provides work fine.
