Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Now that it matters since those who rant rarely see reason and this is the Internet but: don't get me started on the all the *crap* being circulated about the "Spectre" and "Meltdown" vulnerabilities that no software has yet been able to exploit https://www.zdnet.com/article/meltdown-spectre- …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

DGVoodoo 2.54 zip gives me a virus alert in Firefox I use Ff x64 DE, too, but remember that it's your running AV program giving you the false positive--not the browser. Also, do *not* run more than a single AV program at a time--more is not better in that case and two or more AV programs running …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Nice! One thing I don't understand though: why are they enabling mouse capturing? AFAIR it conflicts with mouselook mod. Good question...! I had the same thought initially when running this setup...with DGVoodoo2.54, I'm actually using Mouselook with no problems but I'm using his "non- …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Motorhead: Maybe a problem with car shadows with the DirectX renderer? Is it the same natively? Raising output resolution only brings benefits to d3d games huh? Yes... For anything 2D you only get a blurrier appearance with potentially worse wrapper performance. I know this is probably a foolish …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Lol2-D-GLide AccelerationOn.jpg Direct3D is Windows only. It is not available in the DOS version of Lands of Lore II at all. It is available on the Windows version, which GoG does not provide, and it looks pretty much the same as the Glide renderer. Thanks for the clarification...I didn't think I …

Lol2-C-D3dSoftwareOptions.jpg Lol2-B-GLIDE selection.jpg LoL2-A-Options.jpg DXdiag.jpg I have 3d acceleration with glide and whith direct3d (bilinear filtering is ony available with 3d acceleration). Graphics are similar and it's normal because with the last patch of LoL, it's the standard …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

I think the last version of the game (1.30) have the same graphics in direct3d and in glide mode. I didn't see any difference. The problem at home with nglide version is that after some minutes, the game is very jerky (i have tried in win7 or 10 with differents version of dosbox same thing) 30 fps …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Been in the Insider's beta thing for Win10x64 since 10/2015--little over two years now. (Man, does time fly!) Anyway, got a multi TB game library of > 350+ games installed, from 30 years old to releases in the last couple of months--aside from DG Voodoo2 & Nglide 1.05, oddly enough, I have zero …

xxx. Shouldn't give the bug reporting a go? I found ATI's bug report form: http://www.amdsurveys.com/se.ashx?s=5A1E27D20B2F3EBB What if I whip up a simple glide application doing nothing but rotating a triangle and see if it crashes on your computer? If it does then I could zip up …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Walt, huge thanks for the log!! I've just browsed it and found many lines complaining of errors but the root of them is the following: D3D11 ERROR: ID3D11DeviceContext::Map: Returning DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED, when a Resource was trying to be mapped with READ or READWRITE. [ RESOURCE_MANIPULATION …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Dege, I realized on the first debugging run that I had left on the "Mute Severity of the Info" in the DX ctrl panel (I had left it checked) so I ran the game again this time with no info muted...result is attached here--did not comment on this one since you'll by now see what's going on in the first …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Man, you really seems to be a big fan of this wrapper! :-D Thanks. Of course I am...;) How could I *not* be? You've gone to the trouble to write the wrapper and are still supporting it, so I think it would be very rude of me *not* to be a fan!...:D I've corresponded with many folks who like dgV2 a …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Hi WaltC! There is no anything that can be done wrong in regard of dgv2. Dgv2 should work out-of-the-box with any card supporting DirectX 10.1, no additional configuration is needed. The default config applies a Voodoo2 card with 2 TMUs which is more than enough for vast majority of Glide …

Re: dgVoodoo 2 for DirectX 11

Just released the new version. Shortly: Turok2 is fixed and possibility of refresh rate overriding is added. Dege, I've been trying in vain to get dgv2 2.22, 2.3, 2.31, and 2.32 to run for me under Win8.1.1x64, an HD 7850 2GB, running Catalysts, 13.12, 14.3b, and 14.4b's--with no luck! What happens …

Re: Pandora directive & GUS emulation problem

in DOS
Thanks, ripsaw, but dummy here (that's me) thought he had copied Tsyu's patched instruments into the midi directory when he hadn't!!!! (Old age is coming on hard!) So....all is well with GUS and Tex4! Thanks again...(case closed by #1 Dummy.)

Pandora directive & GUS emulation problem

in DOS
I've had great success in getting games to work with GUS emulation & DOSbox .74, but Pandora is giving me a fit...;) The problem is that I hear what sounds like (loud) hand-claps and snare-drum rolls looping way out of sync with the music and the effect makes the GUS emulation worthless with this …
