So I ran Process Monitor by Sysinternals and started recording in Audacity. audiodg.exe gave me 0.78% of Total and Kernel CPU, but only for a second. Less than 1%? That's outrages! BTW, you shouldn't force kill audiodg.exe, you can just disable the Windows Audio service (Audiosrv).

Once again, I wouldn't blame Windows for that. CPU usage of audiodg.exe always stay at 0% here.

Unpack nolfblim.ren2com to a game folder, rename nolfblim.ren2com to nolfblim.com and add nolfblim.com to dosbox.conf just before game.exe (like blood.exe or duke3d.exe).

vesa_nolfb can cause screen tearing. This should be a better solution.

Unreal 2 does work on Win 7 & 8.1. Maybe it's related to your sound card driver?

sudo dpkg -i /path/to/munt-1.4.0-Linux.deb You can download a package for Ubuntu 14.04 x86_64 here. Anyway, you can try double click the downloaded .deb file. Ubuntu probably (I don't use it) has some .deb installer with GUI.

My Radeon 9550 works fine with DVI. Can't say this about GeForce FX 5500 due to lack of 1920x1200 support and artifacts when using HDMI to DVI adapter.
