Hi everyone, I have a tualeron 1200 and I've found the following motherboard to buy: http://www.yjfy.com/D/DFI/mainboard/CS65-EC.htm It's a DFI CS65-EC. I can't find any info whether it supports Tualatin PIII class CPUs or not. No info on 815E stepping. Does anyone know any better than me? 😀

Yep, I've also problems with my ASUS P2B and a Geforce 2 GTS. They all disappear when I install a Voodoo3 or a simple S3 agp card... But I want the GTS there...

I have this specific motherboard with E6500k and an HD3850/512. Some very late games are actually cpu limited!! When you overclock it, you lose speedstep, which kinda hits my OCD :p

Graphics card My choice: 7800 or 7900 GTX. This was a tough one. I wanted a DirectX9 card because DX10 cards "emulated" DX9 causing some performance issues for DX9 games not to mention graphical glitches in some games. Can you give any specific example on this? Thank you for your answers. I don't have any other sound cards installed in that machine and I don't want to install any other. Maybe I should try one for test, but I think it'll be alright, as is in the other machine. I also don't have another gameport gamepad, so I can't really test the …

Anyone please help? 😢 Should I install SB Pro2 drivers? But everything I find is floppies for DOS... But in the device manager there is a gameport showing up with no exclamation marks.

Many applications need hacks to install on server OS though.

There is another problem with wiki: Here there it only mentions that ALL GF4MX 4x0 cards are 128bit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_ … GeForce4_series But I have a GF4 MX440/8x that is 64bit, thus falls a bit behind a GF2 GTS. 😉

I actually consider Vista as Retro. It's not a matter of age; it's a matter of rarity! I tried with a Tagan PSU of enough old-schoolness (30A @ 12v) and with the AGP card only installed. Also, CLR CMOS etc etc. It's probably that 🙁

Well, just for the record, it was a broken GPU. Hiccups under DX8, computer freezes after a few seconds under DX9. So the whole effort of a combined system is abandoned. 🙁
