Re: DOSBox-X branch

Another question for TheGreatCodeholio: Are you planning on adding the NE2000 Ethernet patch to DOSBox-X? I am wondering this because your last 2-3 releases have that section in dosbox.conf

Re: DOSBox-X branch

No, I know that. What I'm talking about is where you type "imgmount c 'image file' -ide 1m" and instead of mounting it it says "image must be on a host or local drive". This is a new bug since the project was updated to vs2015. It doesn't do this in the latest vs2008 release on github..... The …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Just finished compiling DOSBox-X w/vs2015 this morning. Works Great! One bug to note though, dosbox will not recognize/mount hard disk images larger than 2GB. Has anyone else witnessed this new behavior?

Re: DOSBox-X branch

I'm going to update the Visual Studio project files in my branch to work with the Community edition of VS 2015. Any objections? Absolutely none here! Thank-you GreatCodeholio for doing this, I've been trying for over four months now to try to find a way to compile either daum or this branch with VS …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

What's going on with the config saving function at the moment? Two or three releases ago it did the traditional thing of auto-building an extended config in %LocalAppData%\DOSBox with all the possible settings, but now it seems to not build any config, and if you use the menu to manually save …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

You need to have PCI emulation enabled and voodoo emulation enabled. I don't think there are ISA versions of the 3Dfx cards (are there?). No, there isn't. I was simply referring to the bugs you fixed almost a year ago concerning pci/isapnp emulation. It doesn't matter now I don't think whether you …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

It works with DOS Glide games, which is already very good. :) I was curious so I tried with Windows Glide games. Alas, Win95 doesn"t see the emulated 3DFX card and neither do Windows Glide/D3D games. For Glide games, I usually use Glide wrappers, or real hardware (and I know there are DOSBox builds …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Excellent work on the FDC code so far TheGreatCodeholio! I've been compiling different builds of different commits of yours on github since last month (if they would compile). I find one very interesting feature or bug-exempt object in your current public release(s) versus Daum, and that is the FPU …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

I don't think it's complete. I did confirm this by testing, too. In fact, ykhwong's newest build has additional floppy emulation code which is not in the latest release version of dosbox-x. The additions are documented at the dosbox-x github. Are you sure ykhwong's newest build doesn't have the …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Can someone tell me if the FDC-primary controller emulation is ready for 32-bit DA yet? For some reason I can't get the "int13fakev86io" to work yet in windows 9x. (This was in DOSBox-X 12-24-2014 code, tested with a regular 1.44MB image)

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Way to be on top of it truth5678, as usual! 😁 But yeah, I quite agree Codeholio -- Thank-you, thank-you! (I was just starting to get my VS2008 environment up again to begin compiling your new code until it occurred to me you already did! 🤣 )

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Just a quick question, truth5678: in order to activate the "core=dynrec" in the Jul19 DOSBox-X release, do you simply set core=dynamic in dosbox.conf or are there other steps or settings that need to be changed to activate it?

Re: DOSBox-X branch

Good point. We all can still test Codeholio's great work, even if it is just from his earlier VS2008 builds for public use. If he does decide to make another win32 build, after the FDC emulation and whatever else is finished, I'll always be glad to give my input by testing and any bug reporting. : …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

That's true, it works in the shell...... But is it possible for Codeholio to make it so we can some time in the future, just as an idea, to be able to swap multiple floppies under win9x like we can now with CD's?

Re: DOSBox-X branch

OH, okay! Now I see where the confusion is. DOSBox SVN (clean vanilla) actually I know does support this, Codeholio must just not be aware, maybe? (see http://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?f=41&t=21213&start=20) same thing happens. I recall that DOSBox has never really supported the multiple disk …

Re: DOSBox-X branch

@TheGreatCodeholio: Regarding the new FDC emulation, are we now supposed to be able to switch multiple floppies under win9x like we can with CD-ROM's (as long as we of-course refresh the Windows Explorer window)? And we will have 32-bit disk access with the floppy controller along with the hard disk …
