I believe it's Socket 5 - I used to own one: How collectible is an Intel Socket 5 motherboard? I've since given it away to another Vogoner and he recently replaced the RTC - maybe he will chime in this thread? It's an Intel "Plato" or"Premiere" - it will accept a pentium 75, 90 or 100.

I don't know about Windows 8.1 specifically but this is a common occurence with laptops or "multimedia keyboards". Do you have a "Fn" key on your keyboard that you can press as the same time as the "Ctrl+F11" or "Ctrl+F12" commands? Maybe your computer interpret the F keys as the multimedia commands …
