Re: Halo Combat Evolved

I have a question, just out of naivety.. Why should we use dgVoodoo with HaloCE when Chimera exists? Well, they both achieve two different things. Using dgVoodoo for Halo allows you to enable proper hardware anti-aliasing, along with fixing shaders on PC without any workarounds. Chimera just adds …

Re: dgVoodoo 2.6.x and related WIP versions

Hi. I'm running Psychonauts (DX9 game) with the latest dgVoodoo (2.63.2), but it has glitchy/transparent textures on some characters and environments. https://i.imgur.com/y8FVLTk.png i think you can run the game without dgvoodoo. dx9 is fully supported in current windows That is true for many games …

Re: Doom Eternal Released

If you care so much about artist intent, why aren't you complaining there's no 320x240 support? composite video emulation? N64 blur emulation? CRT filters? Also what's your source on textures being made around 3-point filtering? The art is already far removed from how it was intended. I don't buy …

Re: Doom Eternal Released

I think they just wanted visuals accurate to the original intention, as the textures were made around the N64's 3-point filtering. If you care so much about artist intent, why aren't you complaining there's no 320x240 support? composite video emulation? N64 blur emulation? CRT filters? Also what's …

Re: Doom Eternal Released

Also Doom 64 as a preorder bonus. But it's not a very good port. It tries for authenticity supposedly (I believe it's more of a convenient excuse for a lack of features), but I can't remember texture filtering being this bad on a N64. I suppose it's good for purists who don't want to emulate the …

Half-Life Opposing Force Issue

in Windows
Whenever I try to load up a level on Half-Life Opposing Force with version 1.0.1.6, I get an error that says "Please login with administrator privileges and try again." Half-Life and Blue Shift work fine. Any help here? Could it be a SafeDisc issue?

Regarding Steam version issues - is there a way to delete saved game from GUI? Also 3D sound support is missing. It can be added back with MetaHook plugin MetaAudio , which shouldn't be used online because MetaHook is a gateway to modify engine operation at runtime, which again, is against rules. …

Say goodbye to A3D and go DSOAL ;) Binaries: http://vaporeon.io/hosted/dsoal-builds/ I love DSOAL, but those builds are almost a year out of date. They're perfectly working. And you can always rename the new OpenAL Soft 1.20.1 32 bit DLL to "dsoal-aldrv.dll" You can even try other OpenAL …

xash3d's that illegal source port that unfortunately gets smartypantsed around as blind 'this update fixes hl' advice... How is it illegal? Is the source code stolen from Valve or something? It is disappointing if it is illegal, as I imagined it might lead to source ports for various non-PC …

xash3d's that illegal source port that unfortunately gets smartypantsed around as blind 'this update fixes hl' advice... Yeah, I read about that and that's one of the reasons I'm not using it. It also doesn't support my version anyways. That it's illegal? I think I've heard there's some other …

Valve never fixed unstable physics, did they? Surprisingly, they supposedly fixed the NPC turn rate bug 2 decades after original release. The thing when scientists just explode in the elevator in Blue-Shift is still hilarious. Illegal engine fixes that AFAIK, but I wonder if the bad Russians fixed …

Last time I tried Xash3D it had an annoying audio stutter in loading screens and UI elements were flickering (I think it's because of a Nvidia bug that also seems to affect Cave Story+). It has had plenty of updates since then, but I think it was like half a year ago and left the impression that …
