I remembered almost right. Nice speakers and with the right vintage look! My best speaker was the DTT2500 Digital set. 5.1 at home at that time was really outstanding. Now it's like listening mono tracks.

I remember those speaker from Pentium I/II era... a friend had it and were quiet powerful. I don't remember the RMS wattage maybe 60Wx2?

A 486DX4 100Mhz is the real last 486 to my view. That is but one interpretation. I could attempt to run Half-life on an Intel DX4-100-WB if that is what fits your desire. Regarding the most incredible PC moment is difficult but certainly Stunts 3D based engine was one. My first home 2D->3D switch to my eyes that could have never been the same in gaming graphic probably similar to the time I've seen Wolfeinstein3D. That was incredible too.

I didn't tested exactly with console commands but from a approximate point of view I would say more then 15 fps.. Not with the 486 of course but with the original Pentium 100 with a I430VX and the Voodoo1 latest drivers. I've to say obviously miniGL driver is probably the best help here but anyway …

Hi, just built this pc Pentium 100 and 98mb 72pin on Win98 and I have no words it is running Half life with 3dfx miniGl and the Voodoo1 with the S3 Virge 2Mb quiet well almost 15-25fps 640p all effects.. I would like to try a 486 100mhz but i dont have the mobo.

I put the host file linked in thw Windows directory of Windows 98 but how can I be sure about it is filtering or not cause the batch file was not for this os version. With this K6 233 it's difficult to say it's running also cause I can't enable DMA on my hard drive with the I430VX chipset I have.

One thing that surprised me of the Soundblaster 16 and AWE64 ISA is how much powerful is the audio output from the 3.5 jack. 😲
