My SCSI adapter tells me at boot "No BIOS installed". What does that mean? I think I'm going to replace the 166MHz CPU with a 200MHz overclocked to 233Mhz. Maybe that's enough to compensate the performance loss with the 128MB RAM. I'm going to downgrade it to 64MB anyway. I have a strange problem …

@philscomputerlab Thank you for the quick reply 😀 I guess that must be the reason. Your website is awesome by the way. I wish I would have found it years ago! Well Dolby sounds great, I had no problem so far. Does Second Reality has to be run in DOS mode? It crashes with an error on windows 98

I just tested the Miro Media Surround Board. It sounds really good, even on stereo speakers. One thing I forgot to do was to externally hook it up to the AWE64. I wonder why the manual discourages users to use the internal connection with the 4 pin audio cable. Second Reality doesn't start. Weird. : …

I guess it's supposed to add the ability for surround sound in games or movies. It can decode Dolby Surround like on VHS tapes. There is an option in Star Wars: Rogue Squadron to turn on "Surround" I still need to connect it either internally or externally to the soundcard

So it's a performance loss of about 15% right? Do I have a drop when my memory usage exceeds 64MB that are cacheable, or constant? According to this website http://www.pcguide.com/ref/mbsys/chip/pop/g5i.htm I should be looking for a 430HX board to get around the 64MB limit? 😕

Does it matter (at least a bit?) if I have 2 x 32MB or 4x 16 MB installed? @Dropcik I just want to connect it, because it is there and it was considered state of the Art or Next-Gen in 1997, along with ATX. I already had a quality USB 2.0 PCI card installed …
