On the pic with the soldered rams its visible the bodged pad, right chip on the middle pins. Did this mod to my 754LR+ and I can confirm it works perfectly, local framebuffer 16mb on AGP 2x , ram I used is 166mhz. This makes for a nice win98 system, with gfx and audio integrated, fast Pentium 3 and added bonus of an isa slot, at least on paper, don't know how stable this motherboard is. …

I have one of this cards and It sound fine to me, configured to output Line-out, sound is clean. I really don't understand the hate. It is compatible SoundBlaster Pro, and WindowsSound System and as a wavetable header, and from the games I listened the opl3 is very good.

Thanks to both, will this component alone prevent the card from even post? When I got the card I tested it in varius motherboards and it didn't post in any, so I started looking at the card closer and its the only component missing.

On my Chaintech 6BTA2 I can set in bios FSB (66 / 100) and multiplier (starting in 2x), with any of the unlocked multiplier PII , so I can use a PII 300 @ 133mhz up to 300Mhz. Isn't the Nformat biospatch.sys required to use this 2.5MB DSDD and 6.8MB DSHD removing the issues with data corruption and correct handling of the new sizes? Glitches in textures normally means faulty memory. I've had by now two faulty voodoo 1 cards with memory issues.

Using the GSFULL4M.WFB on my maui with 8mb ram I get at the end "Sample(S) loading : 436 ( 0) = SAMPLE WAVE ERROR: Could not open file" used setwf gsfull4m.wfb
