Some time ago I got 11 (!) NOS zida 4DPS on local flea makert, 6 was completely dead. I got near all working after reflashing the bios or resoldering southbridge and northbridge.

Bought on local flea market. Mediavision Jazz 16 with original speakers. Reveal SC500 sound card (I think its a uncommon soundcard). Everything in near mint condition.

Found a M326 in near mint condition at local flea market, sadly it was completely dead. Replaced the bios and the keyboard controller and nothing changed. Don't use it LOL. Sadly no, old tantalum caps love to explode after long periods of hibernation, I have some very old hard drive that failed like fireworks . Platters magnetic coat deteriorate. I m using for years a tl866cs in Linux using the official software , wine and the wrapper made by radiomanV (https://github.com/radiomanV/TL866). Works perfectly.

Crack open both SSDs and check the main controller and nand chips (sometimes the exactly same SSD have different controllers and nand chips). I have completely disassemble at least two displays in the past with those spots and it was some kind of corrosion on the layer inside display.

Bought two Cyrix 5x86 on local flea market for next to nothing. The IBM one the pins are completely darkned and I nedd to find a away to clean then. The Cyrix one has 1 pin missing, luckily is a VSS pin. Both are working.

Yes, it is fake cache. I have replaced with some chips from a dead motherboard and now the cache is working. Attached the dumped bios.

yes , its is possible on some laptops. For example, the service manual of a compaq LTE elite says that it's possible to upgrade from color DSTN or mono TFT to a color TFT display.
