Just now a succesful POST with a GX1 300 Mhz (PGA). As stated by feipoa these are quite uncommon in PGA format. I wonder if the 333 Mhz version exists at all in PGA.

Completely passively with a passively cooled PSU. Is it possible? I worry that I would be slowly killing the system by doing so. Ok so to be clear: HardMPU (WT) as-is doesn't support MIDI In. The project page states "playback only" and in another talk I had with somebody knowledgeable on the subject I was also made aware that it's playback only.

Does your mainboard support PnP? I don't have an 1868 around unfortunately. It might try to check available resources and runs into a conflict, not sure. Hopefully somebody with an 1868 can chime in.

Does the 1868 have the MPU port enabled under DOS? If not, it might be Windows trying to activate it and running into a conflict. Check the ouput of ESSCFG.

Uhmm no idea. I would suspect the voltages because it would affect both cards, but you checked those already. The chance of having two cards with two problematic wavetable headers is rather low...? Can a grounding issue cause this?

What kind of software do you have running? There is nothing that is setting MIDI volume through sysex? ESS cards might need more volume, not sure.
