Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

How many resources (IRQs, DMAs etc.) would be needed for a configuration for games, that maximizes available devices (so that I don't have to switch them), but minimizes resources they use (I don't need full duplex for games, which AFAIK should allow sharing some resources). I assume: - 1 IRQ and 1 …

Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

Awesome that it is working! Having both means you can playback/record with the Crystal part and use the Synth of the Gravis part. The SoundBlaster/Adlib values in the properties are ignored I assume when disabled in the EEPROM?

Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

I think this was discussed in the ARGUS thread: I have hardly ever used a S/PDIF-enabled device, much less designed anything involving one, but I question the feasibility of this endeavour. Looking through the datasheet and programmer's guide, it quickly becomes clear that it would be far more …

Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

[...] This setup would be great for Orpheus II, but I wonder if it's that easy with the CS4237 and the CS4231 in the IW. I will test tomorrow and report the 3.11 situation under 9x both parts work just fine - I just have the fear that somehow the 3.x drivers will mess things up LOL Thanks! I've …

Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

The IW driver would give you access to the GUS Synth, dynamic patch loading and enables the usage of larger banks. With the GUS Extreme both the GF1 and ESS drivers are installed under Window 3.11 and you can select which one to use for output. This setup would be great for Orpheus II, but I wonder …

Re: Orpheus II soundcard thread

This like the PnP version of the GUS Extreme... Oh man I wonder how it performs. It's beautiful... Is the original PnP ROM on there? Edit: Does the GUS part have its own volume sliders btw? The GUS Extreme does this (Aux on the ESS) and it's very handy. The Interwave does contain a Crystal codec by …

Re: gus hardware module player list

@ElBrunze N-Play uses the routines from Digitrakker as stated in the readme. Digitrakker uses hardware mixing (from the manual): This list contains all output-frequencys for every number of active channels. This list can't be edited, when GUS is choosen as sound-device. But to test it I should try …
