Any chance you could look at the flight sims made with Domark/Simis' Flight Sim Toolkit ? We've found quite a few already, but it looks like they have no presence on YouTube whatsoever. I'm familiar with some of FST made flight sims, like those from Ron Walker, tried them back in early 2000s. But …

I'm completely fine with stock X-Wing Alliance, seen the XWAU and though it looks nice I'm not fond on some changes. Might give it a go at some point. I do look forward for the XWVM though.

Probably because that would require either relying on some kind of dithering algorithm to render the 256-color artwork in 16 colors, which wasn't always ideal, or including separate 16-color artwork along with the 256-color assets in a single distribution, which would have required more floppies …

Interestingly there is EGA version of F-117 Stealth Fighter 2.0 which I'm currently hunting for. It's weird that it was not merged together with the VGA one and was released as separate version. If anyone has it please let me know.

Another classic - Enemy Engaged Apache Havoc from Razorworks. Interestingly GOG version doesn't work right on modern hardware - you need to remove all the compatibility options from the exe and use DirectX wrapper (dgVoodoo2 or DXWnd) Gameplay vid

I played and finished it once back in 1996(?). It's still fun after all those years. For me the best one of those three RealSpace flight sims from Origin (SC, PS, WoG) is still Strike Commander though. It was really ground breaking at the time of the release.
