Re: FREE Computer Parts

Are the PCIX Sata and SAS cards suitable for RAID? And, what interface is the 320GB drive (SATA, SAS, IDE?) And, are you willing to part with any other 775 or similar AMD boards?

Re: Sticking with XP a smart move?

Well, people usually write viruses and other programs to scam people specifically targeting the OSes that most people use. So, even though this may be considered "Off" in thinking, using an older OS may actually be safer than the new one that everyone is using.

Re: Sticking with XP a smart move?

I still stick with Windows XP. Yeah, some new stuff doesn't run on it, but hey, it works! Windows XP is WAY more mature than Windows 7 and 8 and even 10. That awesome Luna theme is still great. You can use Windows XP if you are careful, and don't go on shady websites. It still works because a lot of …

Re: RAID with ISA Hard Drive Controllers

I wanted to try multiple ISA I/O controllers on a motherboard that already has an integrated controller. If I get the IRQ settings changed on these cards, would it be possible? I am building an IDE fileserver, and the board I am using has a couple of ISA slots on it.

The Supermicro board has SCSI headers, but the original owner opted not to get a board populated with SCSI sockets. I can't tell you where I got the …

Re: Supermicro 370DLE Drivers

Ok, I have tried installing W2K Advanced server, but I would get as far as the reboot and load into the OS, and then get a BSOD that says "Inacessable Boot Device". I then tried installing Server 2003, wouldn't even complete install without a disk copy error. I then tried installing W2KAS on my 40GB …

Re: Supermicro 370DLE Drivers

Do you know of any other boards that have this same chipset? I have looked and found very little about this chipset. The problem I'm having is that Windows 2000 keeps giving me "Inacessable Boot Device" and refuses to boot.
