Well, since I did not managed to run DMA on a HDD (Seagate 13G ST313021A), then the problem is very likely not with the adapter itself, but with the card. Thanks a lot for the tip! I completely forget that! Mea culpa. fdisk /mbr fixed the boot issue, so I get the SSD running in my Asus TXP4-X mainboard. That is a good thing. Install went fine even at 83MHz FSB (witch give 41.7MHz PCI bus clock) using Pentium 90 @ 125MHz. However that is all for good …

Already done. The "crystal mod" fixed all the input devices troubles at 7.14MHz FSB. Machine run just great. The only problem I encountering is the IDE speed / booting support, but that is another topic: SSD boot on Asus TXP4-X impossible?

I just tested today a AMD K6-III+ 400MHz in my Asus TXP4-X mobo with patched bios, thanks to Jan Steunebrik. And it worked just great: ...but not at the 7.14MHz FSB, witch suxx bad 🙁
