Ok I know I'm gonna catch some shit for this but I'm just gonna go ahead and say it....Dragon's Lair. Yeah the animation is classic but the game itself sucked and we all know it.

Besides the mechanical pencil trick I've also used a credit card to straighten bent pins. Google "credit card to straighten bent pins" to see examples of how to properly do it. I also agree that Windows9566 sig is to large.

Unfortunately I do not believe I will be able to assist then. So far using the programs listed in this thread I have been unsuccessful in determining what mode the cpu cache is running in. Also the service manual I have does not detail this either.

Interesting thread. I have a DEC system running a POD83 with 11mb of ram and 128kb of L2 cache. I had to buy the sram from Mouser a couple years ago because the mainboard didn't have any installed. I have a service manual from 1996 stating the L2 cache runs in wb mode but I can not confirm this. …

I will admit that I am impressed with your successful attempt at removing the fake chips and then installing functioning ones. Very impressive. I do have to ask one question though. Is that blood on the cache chips in your pic?

Diablo 1's minimum requirements are a Pentium 60 with 8MB of RAM so you're probably fine with the POD83 even with the cut-down 486 motherboard. You might turn off the CD music (just slide the music volume all the way down I think) for better performance, supposedly it was playable even on a real …
