LPT CD-ROM will be relatively slow BTW. Ironically LPT CD-ROMs are usually SCSI CD-ROMs with a LPT interface. Backpack is a known brand for these devices. Start from the beginning :) Does the BIOS have auto detect? If so, do you see the disk in its full capacity there? If not, it doesn't support disks larger than 512MB and you need some DDO software. If it doesn't have auto detect, have you set the new drive's parameters? Values accepted, correct …

Holy shit, thank you guys for the NSSI tool! It's incredibly useful. Yes, I don't have EPP, so LPT CD-ROM is out, unfortunately. But the NSSI includes CPU benchmarks, so I can actually check my slowing down tools. Cool!
