I know about 'Throttle'. I even modified that program to make it work on ALi Aladdin V chipsets. Throttle is nice to have as an option, but for many games and programs it does not give smooth results: Stutters in framerate and sound output. It is msred.com that is new to me.

Yes what I meant is because I asked two questions, one is missed. Is there a reason to slow down PII to run SVGA games or need more processing power? AFAIK this behaviour is to be expected on a Pentium 4. The Pentium 4 is at 2GHz to 3Ghz in hardware. There are no reliable software tricks to get that to a smooth 100MHz or something of that kind. At best one can disable CPU caches and see what kinda speed it seems to resemble. In the end, if you …

Last time I checked, certain multiplier can somehow force some sort of "throttling". All utilities report 5x multiplier with 20-26 Mhz bus and the system overall feels very slow. I disagree. Speedsys readout is just messing up. My SetMul tool does not say such. Pentium 2 Klamath core has a 2.0x …

Yeah. The 5RSA2 Has an ESS Solo-1 PCI based audio chip. Also a nice sound chip. But since both these ESS options lack a wavetable, it is begging for an additional sound card with wavetable support anyways.
